Field-Effect Transistors based on Organic Nanowire Arrays

Organic field-effect transistors represent a multifaceted application platform that is particularly attractive for low-cost, electronic devices such as non-volatile memory arrays, displays, logic circuits and biosensors. By producing organic transistors from macroscopically aligned organic nanowires, we aspire to establish an up-scalable, solution-based fabrication process and open the way to a broad range of low-cost applications. Moreover, the organic nanowire arrays represent a fascinating field of fundamental research with novel magnetooptoelectroic phenomena to be discovered.

Your master project will take place in the Laboratory of Macromolecular and Organic Materials of Prof. Holger Frauenrath at the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne which is regularly ranked within the world’s best universities reflecting its outstanding strengths in basic sciences, engineering and technology.
