6-month internship at Merck Department of small molecule drug disposition (DMPK)
Development DMPK (drug metabolism and pharmacokinetics) department characterizes pharmacokinetic parameters of compounds in vitro and in-vivo such as metabolism, permeability, risk of drug-drug interactions.
Your tasks: During your internship you will contribute to the development, optimization and validation of in vitro DMPK assays, which are essential to predict and understand the pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics and potential drug-drug interactions of our drug candidates.
Assays and methodologies considered will depend on student’s starting time and can encompass methodologies for early screening waves to advanced exploratory/regulated studies in Phase 0-II (e.g. plasma protein binding, CYP inhibition, permeability, membrane transport).

Qualifications:
Bachelor/Masters/Engineering student currently studying Biology, Pharmacy or related disciplines
Strong team player with analytical skills
Interested in the drug development process
Excellent interpersonal, collaborative and communication skills
Striving for scientific challenges and curiosity and passion for research
Good knowledge of English desirable
Ideally some experience in lab work and LCMS analytics
