0208 DOKTORAND/IN BIOWISSENSCHAFTEN - PLASMA AND PULSED ELECTRIC FIELDS
Electrochemotherapy (ECT) is in use for some melanoma-patients within the scope of pallia-tive cancer therapy. Reversible pores are created in the cell membrane by applying pulsed electric fields (PEF), which facilitate the uptake of cytostatic drugs into the cell. Accordingly, the concentration of drugs can be reduced considerably. However, patients still suffer from side effects.
- You will identify biochemical therapeutic synergies between PEF and chemotherapy beyond simple pore formation and relevant membrane proteins and redox proteins.
- You will support the determination in vitro if effects that are comparable to ECT can be achieved by means of cold atmospheric pressure plasma in combination with PEF.

- University degree (Master/Diploma) in life sciences (biology, biomedical sciences, bi-ochemistry or related fields)
- Experience in cell culture and molecular biological analysis techniques (immuno-fluorescence staining, western blot)
- Interest in technologies for physical therapies for cancer therapy
- Ability to work independently, team-oriented, reliable and accurate
