What you can expect
Are you interested in developing your career in Asia? Are you looking for challenging projects on an international level? Coatings Young Professionals trainee program offers you an opportunity to prove your capabilities and gain experience in Europe to fully prepare you for interesting career opportunities within the company in Asia.
You will be based at BASF Shanghai Coatings in China. During the first 12 months on-the-job training in China, you will be able to integrate quickly into the company and get a first overview about the Coatings products and processes.
The 12 months training in Europe afterwards will offer you the chance to become familiar with the variety of our worldwide company operations and to prepare yourself for your future assignment at BASF Coatings in China.
Additionally, you will be able to integrate quickly into the company, thanks to a wide range of networking events and through ongoing support from your personal guide and mentor.
After your training, you are ready to work in a team to work as lab leader in our new research facilities in Shanghai; your tasks will include developing new ideas for research projects and participating in or managing research and development projects.
Furthermore, you will immerse yourself in scientific research by continuously observing technical trends and scientific publications while leading and coaching your team.

Anforderungen

What we expect
- We are looking for self-starting, committed candidates who will enjoy working independently in a challenging environment and continually develop the company through their commitment.
- In addition to your strong communication skills in Chinese and English, your German skills will be considered as a plus.
- You have earned an above-average PhD degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering.
- Ideally, you have focused on binder or coating systems or have experience with application technology.
- You have advanced experience with Windows and MS Office packages.
- In addition to your analytical way of thinking and ability to make decisions, you are aware of topics regarding safety, health and the environment.
