Early Stage Researcher (m/f) / PhD Student (m/f) for new concepts for control in continious casting using electrical and magnetic tomography
This position is part of the European Innovative Training Network Smart Tomographie Sensors for Advanced Industrial Process Control (TOMOCON). For further information about the network, please visit www.tomocon.eu .

The position will be available from 1 April 2018. The employment contract is limited to three years which includes the possibility for the graduation at the Technische Universität Dresden. The regular weekly working time will be 39 hours. The salary is based on the European Marie-Sklodowska-Curie Innovative Training Network TOMOCON. The place of work is Dresden-Rossendorf. The candidate (m/f) will also spend secondments for technical and scientific training at Primetals (Austria), Tata Steel Europe (The Nederlands), University of Bath (UK), and Technical University of Liberec (Czech Republic).

Tasks:
enhance an existing model of a continuous caster with several actuators and two tomographic sensors
realization of the control loop for the demonstrator based on both tomographic sensors
adapt contactless inductive flow tomography (CIFT) for this particular setup and develop a real time reconstruction algorithm
fundamental scientific analyses, engineering design and construction of a technical demonstrator
